Greetings RID members. Thank you for electing me as your RID Board President for the 2021-2024 term.
First, I must thank the previous board for their leadership and dedication in drafting the roadmap for us to build on so that this organization would thrive.

Second, it is really important right now that all of us lean forward and band together to get involved. Together, we can translate our determination and energy into meaningful actions to fundamentally change our organization’s culture and to address the -isms. The end result of this process is to create a better experience for all members through the lens of equity. While it is true that we the members are absolutely one of our organization's key stakeholders, we must also keep in mind the experience of those consumers we still serve. After all, we all agree that those Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard-of-Hearing, and Deaf Plus consumers are all critically important to us.
Last but not least, I am enthusiastically looking forward to working with Star Grieser, RID's CEO. To take a fresh look at how we, the RID Board, can best support her role in a way that would unleash many interpreting innovations that would contribute to a Deaf Diverse Community THRIVING. Again, thank you for your support and I look forward to representing the membership for the next three years in my leadership capacity as your RID President.
