• A discussion of location was brought up by Christine
• We continue to use this location at NCC because it is made available to us at no cost
• Sites in Suffolk have been a challenge due to either cost or size
• Could we manage in a site that only holds 30 people? Since this meeting was attended by
Nassau residents perhaps we can’t answer that question here
• The GOAL is to make LIRID accessible
• Dani Newman offered to look into her firehouse’s public room
• If anyone has any ideas for available spaces, please, let us know
VI. Announcements
A. Angela
• Fundraising committee could use more members
• Tracey Urzi has her Avon books with her if anyone is interested
• Other ideas they are looking into: jewelry, cookies. Maybe a Pampered Chef?
o Susan Watts knows of a Deaf Pampered Chef presenter who has moved to Pa. but maybe
she would be willing to come for a fundraiser?
B. Monica
• Mineola AA meetings need more Deaf clients or they will stop funding interpreters by
January. Spread the word about this terrific service!
C. Maryann
• A great way to ease the stress of everyday life is roller derby! They play at United Skates of
America in Massapequa. Next game is against Bethpage.
