Dear LIRID Members,
We hope this letter finds you and your family happy and healthy. We would like to update you with what’s been going on with LIRID during these unusual times. As of July 1st, the steering committee has taken over responsibility for LIRID and we are ensuring that it remains active. We met with the outgoing board members and the transition is going smoothly. Although their terms are finished, they are willing to help and support the committee. Please join us in thanking them for all for their tireless work and dedication over these past two years:
Co-Presidents: Amanda Allard and Jessica Heron
Vice President: Kirsten Hassel
Treasurer: Christina Intartaglia
Secretary: Allison Zilg
Members-at-Large: Cassie Raguso and Maureen Timlin
Associate Representative: Jenny Goodman
We would like to also acknowledge committee chairpeople, and members. Thank you for your vital role in this wonderful organization. It takes the work and support of many people to keep LIRID active and thriving. Although it may not be easy, the work is certainly gratifying and it strengthens our community.
As the steering committee, our primary goal is for us to find members who are willing to serve on the executive board for LIRID. Specifically, we are looking for certified members willing to take on the President, and Vice President role. We are hopeful that you, our members, take this time to reflect on our profession and the importance of LIRID and think about running for a position. Once we have collected enough interest, we will hold an election for the executive board.
In the meantime, we will be virtually hosting two town hall meetings in August. The purpose of these meetings will be to solicit your opinions regarding national RID as a member run organization or a professional organization. At the town hall meetings, we will discuss the two options and will then open the floor to our members.
To streamline communication within the committee, we ask that you email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or if you are interested in nominating yourself for a board position.
Thank you for your time and we look forward to steering LIRID to the next executive board.
The Steering Committee
